A young mother arrested for allegedly abusing her children and setting a fire in her Florida home for social media clout is in the U.S. illegally, federal authorities have confirmed.
On Sunday, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to an intentionally-set blaze at a Miami residence where they encountered Meliza Campos-Sanchez, 26, according to an arrest report reviewed by NBC6.
Deputies reportedly located charred remnants of clothing in a trash bin outside the home and Campos-Sanchez’s daughter told them her mother had used a bowl of water to extinguish the fire shortly after setting it.
Campos-Sanchez was transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Investigators later found several disturbing videos posted to Campos-Sanchez’s Instagram account, one of which apparently shows her pouring melted wax onto the hands of one of her daughters, who are 3 and 6 years old.
Another video purportedly shows a scantily-clad Campos-Sanchez wearing a mask as she sprays an accelerant on articles of clothing before lighting them on fire in her kitchen.
Campos-Sanchez’s husband reportedly told authorities he and his wife were having marital issues and that he was staying with relatives at the time of the incident.
He also revealed that Campos-Sanchez recently “tied a rope in the rafters in a suicide attempt,” the report states.
Campos-Sanchez was arrested on Aug. 17 and charged with two counts of child neglect, cruelty towards a child: child abuse, and first-agree arson.
Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against Campos-Sanchez, a Cuban national who was unleashed into the U.S. by Biden regime.

“This Cuban illegal alien is charged with child abuse and arson after she poured hot wax onto one of her own children and then lit a fire in her home,” said a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson.
“If it weren’t for the Biden Administration’s reckless open-border policies, criminals like this woman would have never been able to enter our country. ICE has lodged a detainer asking Miami officials to not release this criminal from jail. We will work with our partners in Florida to make sure she is removed from our country after she faces justice.”
