Congressman: Washington “Is Not a Safe Town”

Washington, D.C. is a dangerous, dirty sanctuary city.

“I worry about tourists, especially at night. There are a lot of cool things to go see at night, but I would caution against that,” Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) told Border Hawk.

During a recent Congressional hearing on crime and insecurity, D.C. officials insisted their jurisdiction was safe – just as a violent carjacking unfolded in broad daylight near the Capitol grounds.

“It’s a constant worry of mine. I try not to leave the campus at night,” Rep. Burchett stated.

“It is not a safe town.”
