The Trump administration has announced a new detention facility for illegal aliens will soon be opened in Nebraska.

The “Cornhusker Clink” will house up to 280 illegals at Work Ethic Camp in McCook, a city in Red Willow County near the Kansas state line, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed on Tuesday.

“COMING SOON to Nebraska: Cornhusker Clink. Today, we’re announcing a new partnership with the state of Nebraska to expand detention bed space by 280 beds,” stated DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

“Thanks to Governor Pillen for his partnership to help remove the worst of the worst out of our country. If you are in America illegally, you could find yourself in Nebraska’s Cornhusker Clink. Avoid arrest and self deport now using the CBP Home App.”

DHS shared an image of corn cobs wearing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hats near a guard tower and security fencing.

“Additionally, the Nebraska State Patrol announced its intent to sign a 287(g) agreement empowering its Nebraska State Troopers to help ICE get these criminal illegal aliens off our streets,” DHS explained in a press release.

“Moreover, Gov. Pillen ordered the Nebraska National Guard to provide administrative and logistical support to Nebraska-based ICE officials in enforcing immigration laws. Approximately 20 Army National Guard soldiers will participate in this mission, commencing training within the next week.”

The Cornhusker Clink is the latest innovative partnership between federal and state governments to crack down on illegal immigration, coming just weeks after the launch of Alligator Alcatraz in Florida.

Earlier this month, DHS revealed plans for the “Speedway Slammer,” a 1,000-bed ICE holding center to be opened at the Miami Correctional Center, a maximum security state prison that sits on the former Grissom Air Force Base roughly 70 miles north of Indianapolis, IN.

An as-yet-unnamed ICE detention center has also been approved in West Tennessee.
