Dr. John Tanton Was Right About Mass Migration – It’s Destroying Our Nation

SHARE:

Egged on by leftist activists, the City of Petoskey’s (MI) manager, Shane Horn, clarified Petoskey’s ‘immigration policies’ earlier this year.

As one would expect from a once bright red city that has turned deep blue, Manager Horn announced that the City does not participate in the 287(g) federal program, which deputizes local cops to act as federal immigration officers, nor is there any partnership with ICE via a Memorandum of Understanding.

If there is any ICE activity in the city, Petoskey Public Safety officers can only observe and perform traffic control.

So, Petoskey is now, stupidly, a de facto sanctuary city. Ironically, the pretty resort community on the shores of Lake Michigan is also the birthplace of the modern immigration reform movement.

John Tanton, an eye surgeon who practiced and lived in Petoskey and who passed away six years ago, was the founder of FAIR, CIS, NumbersUSA, and ProEnglish.

These non-profits, based in Washington, D.C., were birthed in the latter part of the last century and have worked for years to promote a message warning that unfettered immigration is unsustainable. Which is 100 percent true! Whether it’s H-1B recipients, refugees, international students, or border crossers, WE HAVE TOO MANY FOREIGNERS who are subsidized by American taxpayers.

Of course, it goes without saying that the number of illegal aliens should be zero.

Whether it’s housing, education, crime, healthcare, the environment, cultural norms, faith, the courts, elections – all these entities have been negatively impacted by the ridiculously high number (some authorities say 100 million) of poorly-vetted ‘migrants.’

Meanwhile, the foreigners who have been here for a while and get elected to public office have managed to colonize Dearborn, MI; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; Lewiston, ME; NYC, NY; and so forth, and turned them into enclaves of the unassimilated.

Free market, Protestant ethic-type newcomers, who might read the Declaration of Independence, are extremely rare. And undervalued. Meanwhile, Socialist Democrats from Ethiopia who want to Free Palestine are a hot commodity in Colorado.

Imagine Dr. Tanton, who also distributed copies of the Camp of the Saints book via his publishing arm, arguing that to maintain a “European-American society and culture, the country needed a clear European-American majority.” Unfortunately, he was making such lonely pronouncements in the 90s long before Twitter and Donald Trump were championing mass deportations – and before Zohran Mamdani was even born.

Tanton’s lengthy, bold accomplishments on behalf of sane immigration policies could fill a book. But would anyone read it?

Nevertheless, his legacy lives on. BorderHawk.news was also birthed in northern Michigan in the office John Tanton used to occupy. His herculean cause – to save a nation – lives on regardless of the dolts who run the city of Petoskey or Washington, D.C.
