An illegal alien is facing a slew of charges following a brutal stabbing attack that led to an officer-involved shooting and citywide manhunt over the weekend in Dallas, Texas.
Dallas Police Department (DPD) officers were called to an apartment complex on Friday morning where they encountered a man holding a bloody knife standing over an injured woman on a second-story landing.
The suspect ignored orders to drop the blade, prompting an officer to open fire.
The knifeman fled the scene on foot and remained on the loose until he turned himself in on Saturday morning. He was not injured.
He was identified as Isidoro Melo-Munoz, 37.

Melo-Munoz was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary of a habitation, possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram, driving while license invalid, and driving while intoxicated.
Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against Melo-Munoz, a Mexican citizen who is in the U.S. illegally.
“On November 20, 2012, CBP arrested Munoz in the Southern District of Texas, and later that day, he was issued a final order of removal. ICE removed Munoz from the country on November 25, 2012,” the Department of Homeland Security told Border Hawk.
“Munoz reentered the country at an unknown time and place, after being removed, which is a felony.”
Melo-Munoz has a prior conviction in Dallas for driving while intoxicated.
The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition.
Authorities say they believe the two had been dating.
