A deadly home invasion in Connecticut has led to charges against two men from the Dominican Republic, one of whom was legalized by the Biden regime despite a disturbing criminal background.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just provided Border Hawk with immigration histories on both suspects arrested for the brutal attack, which unfolded on June 3.
On that day, the Milford Police Department (MPD) responded to a residence where they found an elderly couple suffering from gunshot wounds.
Fredrick Werner, 69, succumbed to his injuries, while his wife, 69-year-old Sandra Cooper, survived despite being shot in the head.
On July 28, authorities issued arrest warrants for Ivan Barias-Florimon, 24, and Stuar Lopez-Reyes, 25.
The U.S. Marshals, working alongside local police, arrested Lopez-Reyes on July 30 in New Haven, Connecticut.
On Aug. 4, Barias-Florimon was arrested in New York City, where he resides.
Barias-Florimon was charged with felony murder, conspiracy to commit murder, home invasion, criminal attempt to commit murder, assault 1st degree on an elderly person, and home invasion, and ordered held on $3 million bond.
Lopez-Reyes was charged with murder, murder in commission of a felony, home invasion, and assault of an elderly victim, and is being held on $3 million bond.
“Ivan Antonio Barias Florimon is a criminal alien from the Dominican Republic. He entered the United States on May 24, 2007, as the son of a lawful permanent resident,” a DHS spokesperson told us.
“Stuar Jose Lopez Reyes is a criminal alien from the Dominican Republic. He entered the United States on November 16, 2016, on a visa during the Obama administration. His lawful permanent resident status was granted on October 5, 2022, under the Biden administration. A year prior, he was arrested for criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing, and was convicted of disorderly conduct.”
Barias-Florimon is in NYPD custody pending extradition to Connecticut.
Lopez-Reyes is due back in court on Aug. 11.
Frederick R. Werner is survived by his wife, two daughters, and several grandchildren, according to his obituary.
