Authorities announced a significant firearms bust at a high school in Florida over the weekend.
On Friday afternoon, a physical altercation broke out at Plant City High School.
School officials intervened and during an ensuing investigation, discovered that two male students had passed their backpacks to two other male students who attempted to hide them on campus.
A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office school resource deputy and administrators located the bags and discovered two handguns, one of which was loaded.
Four suspects were arrested. They were identified and charged as follows:

- Possession of a Firearm on School Property
- Minor in Possession of a Firearm

Francisco Ramos-Pedro, 15
- Tampering With Physical Evidence
- Possession of a Firearm on School Property
- Minor in Possession of a Firearm
Charlin Silvan-Carmen, 14

Many social media users have pointed out that several of the suspects appear to be much older than 14 or 15 years old.
“Bringing firearms onto a school campus is a serious and dangerous decision that puts students and staff at risk. Thankfully, this situation was contained before anyone was hurt,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
“We have zero tolerance for weapons on our campuses, and we will take quick action to hold those responsible accountable.”
An investigation is ongoing.
