UPDATE: DHS has confirmed with Border Hawk that Juan Calo Lopez is an illegal alien from Guatemala.
An illegal alien is facing disturbing charges for sexually assaulting an underage victim in Florida, authorities say.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) just published footage of the arrest of 24-year-old Juan Calo Lopez this week.

On Aug. 23, BCSO was notified about repeated sexual abuse of a male juvenile by a suspect he met on social media.
“The investigation revealed the minor initially began communicating with Lopez through TikTok and Instagram,” BCSO explained in a press release.
“According to the investigation, Lopez later took the minor out to eat and met with him on multiple occasions and began engaging in sexual activity with the minor over the following months.”
Warrants were issued for Lopez’s arrest and after his vehicle was detected by a FLOCK camera, a BCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop and took him into custody on Monday.
Lopez was booked into Bay County Jail on three counts of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors.
Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a detainer against Lopez, who is in the U.S. illegally.
“The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a strong warning to parents and guardians: Know who your children are talking to online. Monitor their social media activity, review their privacy settings, and have ongoing conversations about the dangers of communicating with strangers online,” BCSO stated.
