An illegal alien from Honduras is facing a slew of charges after he kidnapped a woman at gunpoint in Texas then stole her car and drove it to Oklahoma, authorities say.

The harrowing incident unfolded at around 4:45 a.m. on Dec. 24 in Haltom City, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro region.

A 22-year-old woman was walking through a parking lot at her apartment complex when a male suspect accosted her and forced her into her vehicle at gunpoint.

The suspect ordered the woman to withdraw cash from a nearby bank and then drove her to another residential complex in Grapevine, some 22 miles away, the Haltom City Police Department (HCPD) explained in a press release.

The victim was briefly restrained but managed to escape on foot and alert HCPD about her predicament just after 8 a.m.

On Dec. 25, a police officer on patrol located the suspect and stolen vehicle in a parking lot in Oklahoma City.

Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy, 35, was arrested and hit with charges by authorities in both Haltom City and Oklahoma City.

HCPD charged Ordonez Godoy with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, while the Oklahoma City Police Department hit the Honduran with a variety of charges including carrying or possessing a firearm by an illegal alien and use of a firearm while committing a felony.

Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a detainer against the Honduran with the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

The victim was reportedly unharmed during the traumatic ordeal.

An investigation is ongoing, and Ordonez Godoy could face additional charges.
