An illegal alien from the Philippines has been apprehended by federal immigration authorities after racking up a significant criminal record over the past two decades.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just release details about the arrest of Jaime Tan Francisco on Aug. 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Francisco, 55, legally entered the U.S. in 2000 but violated the terms of his admission and remained in the U.S. illegally.
In 2006, Francisco was convicted of misdemeanor harassment.
In 2014, he was convicted of methamphetamine possession.
On July 25, Francisco was arrested in Las Vegas on charges of domestic battery, using or possessing drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, attempted arson, and drug possession.
ICE took Francisco into custody days later, where he remains pending removal proceedings.
“Criminal illegal aliens are unwelcome in the U.S., and ICE is partnering with state and local police to keep them off our streets and out of our communities,” said ICE Director David Venturella.
DHS says ICE arrested nearly 51,000 illegal aliens in August, the highest monthly total for the agency on record.
