An illegal alien with convictions for heinous sex crimes has been apprehended by federal immigration authorities after multiple releases by officials in the sanctuary state of Oregon.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just announced the arrest of Cristobal Felipe-Sarmiento, a Mexican national who has lived in the U.S. while committing horrific offenses for over a decade.
In 2014, Felipe-Sarmiento was convicted of driving under the influence in Marion County, OR.
The following year, Felipe-Sarmiento and another man took advantage of a woman who was “intoxicated, physically helpless and unable to consent” at a house party in Marion County, the Statesman Journal reported at the time.
“He told investigators he and another man took turns to have sexual intercourse and receive oral sex from the victim, according to court documents. In an interview with detectives, Sarmiento admitted through a Spanish translator he knew the woman was very drunk but denied allegations that the sex was not consensual.”
Felipe-Sarmiento was convicted of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy and sentenced to eight years and four months in prison in 2016.
The sex predator was released back onto the streets of Oregon following both convictions, but was finally taken into custody on Apr. 9 by Homeland Security Investigations, a law enforcement agency within Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“This dangerous criminal illegal alien should NEVER have been in this country in the first place—let alone RELEASED TWICE by sanctuary politicians following convictions for driving under the influence, rape, and sodomy,” said DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis.
“Oregon sanctuary politicians that continue to release criminal illegal aliens like Cristobal Felipe-Sarmiento into American communities are playing Russian roulette with American lives. The brave men and women of DHS law enforcement are working every day to keep our communities safe by arresting these heinous criminals.”
