An illegal alien who fled a prison sentence in Moldova for torturing an elderly victim and hurling them to their death has been apprehended in California after being released into the U.S. by the Biden regime, authorities say.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just announced the arrest of Victoria Sorocean, 40, in Los Angeles on Nov. 4. In 2013, Sorocean and an accomplice were convicted of murder committed with premeditation and exceptional cruelty in Chinsinau.
The Moldovan woman participated in beating a 71-year-old victim with a stick and electrical cord before shoving them off a ninth-floor balcony.
Sorocean was sentenced to 17 years in prison but fled to the U.S. and apparently lived under the radar under she was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in January of 2020, during the first Trump administration.
She then “engaged in various legal tactics to avoid removal, including filing multiple appeals with the Board of Immigration Appeals and seeking asylum,” DHS explained in a press release.
Sorocean was released back into the U.S. by the Biden regime in 2022. She was reportedly living in a $1.2 million home in North Hollywood at the time of her apprehension.

“It shocks the conscience that the Biden Administration released into America a cruel, violent illegal alien who tortured a human being, beat them with an electrical cable and a stick, and then threw her victim from a ninth-floor window,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“These are the types of barbaric criminal illegal aliens ICE is targeting every single day. 70% of all ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S. This does not even include foreign fugitives like this convicted murderer. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, the world’s criminals are no longer welcome in the U.S.”
