A previously-deported Mexican illegal is facing a slew of charges for brutal sexual abuse of a minor who was living in a Kentucky property he rented to her mother, authorities say.
Rolando Vasquez, 48, was taken into custody on July 29 in Louisville and charged with three counts of rape, three counts of sodomy, human trafficking, promoting human trafficking with a victim under 18, and sexual abuse.
His arrest came after a woman told police her 15-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted by Vasquez.
The woman and her child had been renting a room from Vasquez, who allegedly began committing violent sexual acts against the girl last year when she was just 14,
Vasquez forced the girl to engage in sexual acts with him several times per week under threat if she refused or reported him, according to court documents reviewed by local media.
“The report details four other instances of sexual assault, including Vasquez allegedly making the girl perform oral sex on him until she threw up, sodomy in the backseat of his car and an instance of sexual assault in the bathroom of his work,” WAVE reports.
The victim said Vasquez sometimes gave her money following sexual encounters.
Vasquez pleaded not guilty during a July 30 court appearance and was ordered held on $100,000 bond.
On Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed that Vasquez is in the U.S. illegally after being deported in 2013.
“This criminal illegal alien from Mexico has been charged with rape, human trafficking, sexual abuse, and other horrific crimes after he allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl while he was renting out a room to the girl and her mother,” said a DHS spokesperson.
“ICE has lodged a detainer asking officials in Louisville, Kentucky to not release this criminal from jail, and to hand him over to ICE custody so he can be removed from our country.”
Vasquez has a prior conviction in the U.S. for driving under the influence of liquor.
