A man who gunned down three of his colleagues before killing himself at a landscape supply company in Texas last weekend has been identified as an illegal alien, authorities say.
The horrific episode unfolded on Saturday morning in San Antonio.
Investigators say Jose David Hernandez Galo, 21, killed three co-workers and shot at more as they fled the scene.
“Police said officers secured the area and found Hernandez Galo hours later with a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” KSAT reports.
The deceased victims were identified as Selvin Chacon, 48; Sergio Chaon, 38; and Karen Bautista, 24.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed Hernandez Galo was illegally present in the U.S.
“Murder suspect in triple murder/suicide shooting at a San Antonio, Texas landscaping business on Nov. 9 was an illegal alien from Honduras. Jose David Hernandez Galo, 21, illegally entered the United States on April 16, 2019, as a minor, with his family unit, Jose Pedro Hernandez-Machado, 44, by crossing the Rio Grande River in El Paso, Texas at a location not designated as an entry port. On that same date, U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested the family unit and served them with a notice to appear before an immigration judge,” ICE explained in a statement.
“This senseless tragedy could have been prevented. The family unit has not reported in to ICE since July 2022. The Biden administration policies at the time did not consider Galo, or his family unit, a priority.”
