A previously-deported illegal alien was ordered held on just $5,000 cash bond for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in South Dakota this week, according to reports.
Victor Manuel Rodriguez Escobar, 49, was arrested in Sioux Falls and charged with second-degree rape.
Rodriguez Escobar reportedly encountered the victim at around 4 a.m. on Monday morning after she was kicked out by her boyfriend.
He invited her into his apartment then forced her onto a bed and raped her, investigators say.
The prosecutor requested Rodriguez Escobar be held on $25,000 cash bond, but his public defender claimed he is not a flight risk because he has a job and family in the area.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against Rodriguez Escobar, who is reportedly a Mexican national with two prior deportations.
“Immigration office says sexual assault suspect Victor Manuel Rodriguez Escobar had been deported in 2003 & 2009,” the Dakota Scout reports.
An investigation is ongoing.
