A previously-deported Mexican national who was convicted of killing his own child was arrested again in Oklahoma.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just announced the apprehension of 53-year-old Carlos Ambriz.

Ambriz illegally entered the U.S. at an unspecified location and date decades ago and was first encountered by federal authorities while he was serving a 40-year sentence for killing his son in Montana in the 1990s.

The Mexican was ordered deported by an immigration judge in 1999 and was removed to Mexico in 2006.

On Mar. 25, Ambriz was caught by officers from ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas near his residence in Catoosa, OK.

“This subject’s criminal record underscores the significant danger he represents to our community, particularly with the serious charge and conviction for killing his own child,” said ICE ERO Dallas Field Office acting Director Josh Johnson.

“Our officers remain committed to enhancing public safety by apprehending and removing criminal aliens who violate immigration laws.”

Ambriz is being held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
