Gentry Gevers escaped the sanctuary state of Washington and moved his family across the country to North Carolina only to discover that Charlotte is facing many of the same issues as his hometown of Seattle.
Gevers was disturbed to discover the Charlotte area is crawling with career criminals who are repeatedly released back into the community, despite being in the country illegally or having more than 100 prior arrests in some cases.
“Apparently, Charlotte is a hotbed for sex trafficking, which I absolutely hate, and it’s probably predicated by the fact that there is a tremendous amount of illegal immigrants here,” Gevers told Border Hawk.
“Not all of them are heinous people, but you can imagine that, if Joe Biden left the border open for four years, some of the most heinous people are going to come in to our country and create havoc and chaos.”

He pointed out that the recent launch of Operation Charlotte’s Web was “very surgical,” with federal immigration agents targeting roughly 500 “worst of the worst” foreign criminals in Mecklenburg County, and yet, open borders radicals turned out in force to oppose the effort.

Gevers says Charlotte roadways are chaotic, with many drivers violating traffic laws and basic etiquette — often in badly damaged vehicles.
“It kind of feels, sometimes — especially during rush hour — that you’re driving in a Third World country,” he stated.
However, Gevers has noticed that motorists are operating more carefully in recent weeks, with some likely hoping to stay off law enforcement’s radar.
Like other culturally-enriched cities across the country, non-English-speaking children comprise the majority of students in many Charlotte classrooms.
Amid a surge in operations, one of Charlotte’s largest school districts reported 30,000 students absent, over 20% of its student body are potentially in the U.S. illegally.

Mass migration is “making America unsafe and it’s making America expensive,” Gevers asserted.
“The Biden administration and the Democrats broke the social contract with all of America because every single major city that is a sanctuary city, like Charlotte, is now a border city. Which is really sad.”

Despite the damage open borders have inflicted on the Charlotte metro region, Gevers believes the Queen City is on the up and up due to the ongoing federal crackdown, the recent end of cashless bail in North Carolina, and an anticipated influx of wealth and capital fleeing to the Carolinas from Zohran Mamdani’s New York City.
“I think America’s best days really are ahead because of this administration,” Gevers concluded.
