TX Trooper Finds 5 Illegal Immigrants Concealed within Lumber Load 9/20: A TxDPS Trooper stopped a Chevrolet 3500 hauling lumber on IH-35 La Salle County.
During the traffic stop, the driver, William Meza, from Laredo, consented to a search of the vehicle.
Within the lumber, the Trooper discovered five illegal immigrants from Honduras and Mexico.
The Trooper arrested and charged Meza with five counts of smuggling of persons with the likelihood of serious bodily injury or death.
Five illegal immigrants were referred to the US Border Patrol.
