U.S. border authorities have busted at least three big rig drivers for smuggling illegal aliens in Texas in recent days.
On Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office reportedly located 20 illegals being transported in a tractor-trailer in “life-endangering” conditions.
A USBP K9 alerted to a suspicious 18-wheeler at a truck stop in Edinburg, prompting an inspection.
The illegals were turned over to USBP and the driver was taken into custody.

On Wednesday, USBP Chief Rosario Vasquez announced that agents foiled another smuggling attempt at a checkpoint in Laredo.
An X-ray inspection revealed that four illegal aliens, including an unaccompanied minor, were concealed inside the sleeper area of a truck tractor.
The driver, a U.S. citizen, was arrested and is now facing alien smuggling charges.

On Aug. 14, USBP published photos from another big rig bust in which 26 illegal aliens were pulled out of a trailer in the Rio Grande Valley.
