Twice-Deported Criminal Illegal Arrested for Raping Jogger at Knifepoint in Sanctuary State Connecticut

A previously-deported illegal alien has been charged in the brutal rape of a young woman in Connecticut.

The horrific attack unfolded in New Haven on the morning of Aug. 9 but key information about the suspect was just confirmed by federal authorities.

A female jogger was running on a trail near Fort Hale Dog Park at around 7:30 a.m. when she was ambushed by a man wielding a box cutter, NBC CT reports.

The suspect proceeded to rape the woman while holding the blade to her throat before fleeing the scene.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and later worked closely with investigators and the FBI to identify her alleged attacker.

DNA evidence eventually matched with samples collected from a man during the probe of an unsolved 2016 physical and sexual assault of two minors in Plano, TX.

On Sept. 11, New Haven police arrested 34-year-old Ludvi Carias-Interiano at his residence in West Haven.

He was charged with aggravated sexual assault and unlawful restraint and held on a $750,000 bond.

On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed Carias-Interiano is an illegal alien from Guatemala who was deported twice during the first Trump administration but slipped back into the U.S. at an unknown location and date.

Carias-Interiano has prior convictions for assault and illegal reentry.

“This criminal illegal alien should have NEVER been in our country in the first place to commit this heinous rape of a young women jogging in the park. This violent criminal has prior charges for sexual assault of a minor and violent assault,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

“ICE lodged an arrest detainer to ensure this criminal illegal alien is not released on U.S. streets to terrorize more innocent women. Unfortunately, Connecticut is a Sanctuary state that protects predators like Carias-Interian by refusing to work with ICE. These sanctuary politicians put American lives in danger.”

Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals in the U.S.
