Illegal aliens have been arrested for separate vehicular assaults on federal officials in the Chicago area on the same day.
Two dangerous incidents unfolded just miles and hours apart in the sanctuary state of Illinois on Wednesday, the Department of Homeland Security announced.
The first attack took place in the village of Norridge.
Miguel Escareno De Loera, an illegal alien from Mexico, used his car to ram an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vehicle twice before hopping a curb and crashing into a stop sign.
Escareno De Loera entered the U.S. at an unknown location and date.
Hours later, ICE agents were attempting to apprehend Widman Osberto Lopez-Funes in nearby Bensenville when he also crashed his vehicle into ICE agents.
Lopez-Funes then exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby residence where he was taken into custody.
Lopez-Funes, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, entered the U.S. at an unknown location and date.

Both men are now in federal custody pending removal proceedings and are also expected to face criminal charges.
“Thankfully none of our law enforcement was killed because of these deranged criminals’ attacks on law enforcement. This is exactly what happens when Governor Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, and other sanctuary politicians demonize ICE and encourage illegal aliens to resist law enforcement,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“Our ICE law enforcement is facing a more than 1000% increase in assaults—including cars—being used as weapons against them. Secretary Noem has been clear: anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Illegal aliens and radical leftists have become increasingly brazen in their resistance to immigration law enforcement.
