The suspect can be seen driving in the dark with his lights turned off while attempting to shake authorities pursuing him from multiple directions.
Suddenly, he speeds through a stop sign and broadsides a vehicle driven by a TxDPS Special Agent.
Multiple passengers can be seen bailing out of the damaged Chevy, including the driver, who immediately began punching a Border Patrol agent who tried to tackle him.
“During the pursuit, the smuggler, Guillermo Osto Navarette, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, disregarded several stop signs and crashed into a DPS Special Agent. Upon exiting the vehicle, Navarette resisted arrest and assaulted a Border Patrol Agent,” TxDPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez explained in a statement.
Navarette was taken into custody, along with three illegal aliens from Mexico.
Navarette was charged with three counts of smuggling of persons, evading arrest, and assaulting a peace officer.
The illegals were turned over to Border Patrol.
