A South American man died after being stabbed while riding the subway in New York City this week.

The horrific assault unfolded just after 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday in Queens.

Witness footage shows rush hour commuters fleeing in panic as the train arrived at the Woodhaven Boulevard station.

A black male can be seen plunging a knife into another man several times before throwing him onto the elevated platform and taking off running.

The witness continued filming as he and others chased the fleeing assailant down to street level.

The suspect ran across a busy road and into a parking lot before hopping a fence and climbing onto the roof of a garage.

Police arrested him a short time later.

Jyrell Thomas, 25, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and hospitalized for reasons that remain unclear, the New York Post reports.

The victim, identified as 59-year-old Mesias Lojano, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Lojano, who hailed from Ecuador, was reportedly on his way home from a construction job at the time of the attack.

“My father was always a man of faith and he was taken away from us,” Lojano’s adult son told The Post in Spanish.

“I shared so many good times with him. I have a hole in my heart now. I saw the video. I want justice.”
