A previously-deported child sex predator has been caught after illegally crossing the southern border into Arizona, authorities say.

On Saturday, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents in Yuma Sector apprehended Santiago Tzoc-Pop, a Guatemalan national who committed heinous crimes against a very young victim.

Tzoc-Pop was convicted of aggravated sexual battery against a victim 13 or 14 years of age in Richmond, VA, and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

“He now faces charges for illegal re-entry!” USBP Chief Jason Owens wrote on social media on Thursday.

On October 9, just days prior to Tzoc-Pop’s arrest, USBP agents in Tucson, AZ, caught three convicted sex predators who were illegally present in the U.S.

On October 8, Tucson Sector agents apprehended nine Mexicans being smuggled into the U.S. near Nogales.

Among them was Carlos Jose Martha, a previously-deported illegal who was convicted of sexually assaulting a victim under 13 in New Jersey.

Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals illegally present in the U.S.
