Federal immigration authorities say they captured a violent illegal alien after he rammed their vehicle and led them on a dangerous pursuit in the sanctuary state of Connecticut.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just released details about the bust, which unfolded on Jan. 20.
ICE Boston, working alongside the DEA and ATF Boston, conducted an operation targeting John Reino-Tello, an Ecuadorian national with a lengthy rap sheet that includes charges for risk of injury to a child, assault, criminal violation of a restraining order, and violation of a protection order.
“Reino, a priority target due to his criminal history, tried to evade arrest by violently and intentionally ramming an ICE vehicle,” ICE explained in a statement.
“Without regard for the safety of law enforcement, himself or the public at large, Reino then led officers and agents on a reckless vehicle pursuit — eventually leaving his vehicle in drive and fleeing on foot.”
Reino continued to resist arrest but was neutralized and taken into custody.
Illegal aliens and radical leftists have become increasingly violent in their resistance to immigration law enforcement.
“Thanks to rhetoric by sanctuary politicians and encouragement of illegal aliens to evade arrest, our officers are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults against them, a 3,200% increase in vehicular attacks, and an 8,000% increase in death threats against them. Secretary Noem has been clear: anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin recently warned.
