Federal authorities have published photographs of a U.S. Border Patrol car that sustained “significant damage” when an illegal alien reportedly rammed the sedan with his own vehicle in the sanctuary state of Oregon last week.
On Thursday afternoon, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents conducting targeted enforcement in Portland stopped a Toyota pickup truck believed to belong to a female involved in a Tren de Aragua prostitution ring.
The woman, identified as Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras, was sitting in the passenger seat while a male companion, identified as Luis Nino-Moncada, was driving the vehicle at the time, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
“After commanding Nino-Moncada to exit the vehicle, Nino-Moncada is alleged to have placed his vehicle in reverse, colliding with an unoccupied Border Patrol vehicle with enough speed and force to cause significant damage,” the DOJ explained in a press release.
“Nino-Moncada continued the forward and reverse maneuver multiple times, striking the Border Patrol vehicle multiple times. A Border Patrol agent interviewed by FBI special agents described being fearful that Nino-Moncada could strike them and other Border Patrol agents with the target vehicle.”
A USBP agent fired defensive shots during the harrowing attack, striking Nino-Moncada in the arm and Zambrano-Contreras in the chest, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

The suspects managed to travel roughly five miles to a Portland apartment complex before calling 911 for medical assistance.
They were transported to separate hospitals before Nino-Moncada was taken into FBI custody and charged with aggravated assault of a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon and depredation of federal property in excess of $1,000.
Nino-Moncada repeatedly shouted “F** ICE” while being medically treated, according to an FBI affidavit.
“In an interview following the incident, Nino-Moncada admitted to intentionally ramming the Border Patrol vehicle in an attempt to flee and stated that he knew it was an immigration enforcement vehicle,” the DOJ says.

Both suspects are illegal aliens from Venezuela with alleged ties to Tren de Aragua who were unleashed into the U.S. by the Biden regime after illegally crossing the southern border — Nino-Moncada in 2022 and Zambrano-Contreras in 2023.
Nino-Moncada has prior arrests for DUI and unauthorized use of a vehicle and was issued a final order of removal by a federal immigration judge in Denver.
Additionally, both Venezuelans are suspected of being involved in recent shootings in the Portland area.
Nino-Moncada was scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court on Monday afternoon amid an ongoing investigation.
