Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says that Republicans must be tough on legal immigration and H-1B visas as well, not just illegal immigration.
“Not just illegal immigration – making sure that these visa programs aren’t being used to undermine American workers, making sure that the fraud that comes in… being willing to say: we should not have a diversity lottery, where someone just comes out of a hat.”
“We should have merit-based. We shouldn’t have massive chain migration, all these things. I think we’ve got to get this right once and for all.”
The comments were made in response to his upcoming appointment to the U.S. Senate, replacing Marco Rubio.
