An illegal alien fleeing heinous child sex crimes charges in Indiana has been captured in North Carolina, authorities say.
On Wednesday, federal and local law enforcement apprehended 19-year-old Marvin Jose Vasquez-Martinez in Iredell County, NC.
Vasquez-Martinez was wanted on an outstanding Fugitive Arrest Warrant from Indiana for Rape and Child Molestation.
He reportedly fled the area of Hendricks County, IN, around two months ago and has prior arrests for auto theft, resisting law enforcement, and possession of marijuana.
“He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he appeared before Magistrate M. Russell. Russell issued a million-dollar secured bond on the warrant. While processing Vasquez-Martinez into the detention center, it was determined that he is an illegal alien,” the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office explained in a press release.

Other agencies that participated in the arrest included the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the FBI Violent Crime Task Force, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued a detainer against the Honduran, who remains in custody.
