Authorities in Florida just arrested an illegal alien from Honduras with a lengthy deportation history who had an active warrant for cruelty to a juvenile out of Louisiana.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to a fight outside a bar in Immokalee on Feb. 7 where one of the suspects involved was identified as Jose Alberto Machado-Perez, 40.
Deputies discovered Machado-Perez was wanted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear to face a child cruelty charge in the Bayou State.
“Records further showed that Machado-Perez had illegally re-entered the United States seven times, the most the Collier County Sheriff’s Office has encountered for an individual arrested and placed in its custody,” CCSO explained in a press release.

Machado-Perez was removed from the U.S. on at least six occasions between 2013 and 2022, but illegally returned each time at unknown locations and dates.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against the Honduran, who will be turned over to federal custody after his charges in Louisiana are satisfied.

“This arrest underscores the importance of our longstanding 287(g) partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement when it comes to keeping our community safe,” stated Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk.
Under Gov. Ron DeSantis, law enforcement agencies across Florida have signed at least 327 partnership agreements with ICE — more than 40 other U.S. states and territories combined.
