Another innocent American life was stolen by an illegal alien with a lengthy rap sheet, prompting federal authorities to blast lawmakers in the sanctuary state of Illinois.
The tragedy unfolded on Saturday afternoon in Orangeville, a village in rural Illinois near the Wisconsin state line.
Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Route 26.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that a Nissan Altima, driven by Rolando Ico-Choc (age 30), a Guatemalan national who had been living in Freeport, was traveling southbound on Illinois Route 26 North when it entered the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Ford Edge driven by Darcy Connolly-Brunner (age 61) of Freeport. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene,” SCSO explained in a press release.
There were no other passengers involved.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has since revealed that local police in Illinois ignored seven detainers lodged against Ico-Choc, an illegal alien who had prior arrests and convictions for endangering the life of a child, domestic battery, resisting law enforcement, multiple DUIs, and operating uninsured vehicles.
In January, Ico-Choc was sentenced to just seven days in prison for his most recent DUI charge, and then released back into the community.
“This was not an innocent accident. It was a preventable tragedy made possible by policies that release dangerous offenders back onto our streets,” said ERO Chicago acting Field Office Director Shawn Byers.
“Seven times ICE asked for custody, and seven times local law enforcement was forced to ignore those requests placing the death of this innocent women directly on the hands of those who voted the Illinois Trust Act into law.”
“How many more lives must be lost before Illinois lawmakers care enough about their constituents to ensure all law enforcement, federal and local are able to work together?” Byers stated.
Darcy Connolly-Brunner is survived by her husband Tom and several children, including former WNBA player Sophie Brunner.
