Nearly 75 Illegals Arrested at Cartel-Run Nightclub in South Carolina

More than 70 illegal aliens were rounded up during a raid on a South Carolina nightclub by a suspected member of a Mexican cartel, authorities say.

The major bust unfolded over the weekend at The Alamo, an “underground illegal nightclub” in Charleston with alleged ties to Cártel del Noreste, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Following up on a tip from a source who said the club was a hub for weapons, narcotics, and human trafficking, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) worked alongside federal and local agencies to carry out Operation Last Stand on June 1.

In total, 72 illegal aliens were apprehended, along with six juveniles who were transferred to state social services for protection and care.

One of the men arrested was identified as Sergio Joel Galo-Baca, a Honduran illegal alien and foreign fugitive with an active Interpol Red Notice for homicide in Honduras, DHS stated.

“Day in and day out, the brave men and women of ICE are working with local law enforcement to keep American communities safe. The successful operation that took place in the Charleston area resulted in more than 70 arrests of illegal aliens—including an international murder suspect and the dismantling of a nightclub run by a suspected cartel member where drug, weapon, and human trafficking were taking place,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, fugitives and law breakers are on notice: Leave now or ICE will find you and deport you.”

The Trump administration designed Cártel del Noreste a Foreign Terrorist Organization in February.
