An illegal alien who crossed Joe Biden’s open border has been charged with shooting two people in the D.C. area this week, authorities say.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) provided Border Hawk with immigration background on Jose Adilio Otero Alvarenga, a 25-year-old citizen of El Salvador currently in custody in Loudon County, Virginia.
Just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, authorities responded to shots fired near the Sterling Town Center shopping mall.
A short time later, two victims suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds were located at a local hospital.
On Monday, the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office arrested Otero Alvarenga in Herndon, Virginia.
He was charged with Possession of a Firearm by an illegal alien, Malicious Wounding, Unlawful Wounding, and Use of Firearm in Commission of Felony.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against Otero Alvarenga, but it is unclear it if will be honored by authorities in the sanctuary jurisdiction.
“Otero Alvarenga admitted to illegally crossing the Biden administration’s open southern border in 2022. We are urging Loudon County officials to honor ICE’s detainer so we can remove this criminal illegal alien from our country,” a DHS spokesperson told us.
The Salvadoran is being held without bond amid an ongoing investigation.
