A suspect wanted for child sex crimes has been arrested following a brutal attack on a Turkish man who just moved to the U.S. and was working as a rideshare driver, according to reports.

The vicious carjacking unfolded at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday evening in Frisco, a city in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro region.

The Frisco Police Department (FPD) was alerted about a seriously injured man who was found by a Good Samaritan in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Responding officers found Dilaver Berk, 25, suffering from deep lacerations to his neck and hands.

Berk was able to communicate and told officers he is a Lyft driver who was ambushed and robbed by a customer.

At the conclusion of an uneventful 15 minute ride, the suspect reportedly began stabbing Derk repeatedly in the neck and then used a cable or wire to choke him.

The suspect then tossed Berk onto the pavement and drove off in his Toyota sedan.

FPD officers located the stolen vehicle hours later and initiated a pursuit that led to a foot chase after the suspect crashed the car and bailed out.

Antwain Williams, 19, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and multiple counts of evading arrest or detention.

FPD discovered Williams also had an outstanding warrant for sexual performance by a child.

Berk was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but is now recovering.

“Meanwhile, Berk moved from Turkey to North Texas last year and sends money to his parents back home. Now, he’s leaning on his friends and cousins as he recovers,” Fox 4 reports.
