A teenage suspect who is in the U.S. illegally is facing a murder charge after allegedly stabbing a man to death in New York over the weekend, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded just after midnight on Friday in Mineola, a village on Long Island.
The Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) responded to the scene of a homicide at a Roosevelt Place residence.
Officers located a 32-year-old male victim suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen, NCPD explained in a press release.
He was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
A 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody at the scene and later charged with second-degree murder.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman has confirmed that the suspect is an illegal alien, local media reports.
