A man claiming to be an American citizen was arrested after he allegedly sabotaged a federal vehicle and assaulted a U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agent during significant immigration enforcement in the sanctuary state of California this week.
On Thursday, USBP conducted its northernmost operation in the Golden State under President Trump, descending on the capital city of Sacramento to track down illegal aliens and criminal foreign nationals.
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin was riding along with USBP when they executed a sweep at a home improvement store where illegals frequently gather in the parking lot.
“Upon arrival at a Home Depot, suspected illegal aliens took off running in all directions,” Melugin reported.
“One man, who claimed to be a U.S. citizen, was arrested and maced by federal agents after he allegedly slashed the tire of a federal vehicle and appeared to assault an agent was he was taken to the ground.”

More than 10 individuals were taken into custody, including an aggravated felon with a prior conviction for fentanyl trafficking.
USBP El Centro Sector Chief Gregory Bovino told Melugin that the operation, which unfolded more than 500 miles north of the Mexico border, was “meant to send the message that the federal government can and will go wherever they want in the sanctuary state.”
“There is no sanctuary from our enforcement efforts,” Chief Bovino stated.
A California man saw an ICE operation unfolding at Home Depot and decided to slash the tires of the agents’ vehicle.
He then got ragdolled, maced in the face, and arrested.

Just hours prior to the Sacramento campaign, Bovino issued a warning to individuals who attack immigration officers or intentionally damage government property.
“We search and bring those individuals who impede arrests, assault federal agents, and/or destroy government property, to face justice regardless of their immigration status,” Bovino stated.
