Reports indicate the suspicious character may have been taking photos or videos of the Dodge’s license plate.
The driver, reportedly a federal officer from an unspecified agency, sprung out of the vehicle and drew his weapon, pointing it at the man as he fled on foot.
The officer then climbed back into the car without further incident.
Local reports indicate the episode unfolded on Wednesday morning in the vicinity of immigration enforcement activities that took place at around the same time.
Witnesses told KTLA that plainclothes officers donned ballistic vests before questioning and arresting multiple “day laborers” at a bus stop.
“We at the City of Pasadena are deeply saddened and concerned by the events that have taken place in the region over the past several days surrounding the federal government’s immigration enforcement activities,” city officials stated.
“Neither the City of Pasadena or the Pasadena Police Department participate in the enforcement of federal civil immigration laws, nor do we ask about an individual’s immigration status when responding to calls for service or when delivering City services.”
As you can see, these ICE agents are pointing guns at innocent individuals, no warrants, no explanations, just fear and intimidation. These raids in my district are absolutely vile. Masked and armed like a militia, they’re terrorizing families and destroying any sense of safety… pic.twitter.com/KsxBsWslbl
