WATCH: Florida Police Bust Illegals in Middle of ‘Bank Jugging’ Operation

SHARE:

Two illegal aliens were arrested for robbing at least one victim during a ‘bank jugging’ spree in Florida last week, authorities say.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) just released footage of the bust, which unfolded on March 28 in Kissimmee, Fox 35 reports.

OSCO was alerted about a vehicle break-in at a shopping center where witnesses say they saw a man climb out of a smashed rear window and hop into a Hyundai sedan, which quickly sped away.

OSCO detectives in an unmarked vehicle located the suspects’ vehicle and began tailing it.

A police chopper also pursued the Hyundai and captured the moment the suspects were boxed in after parking near a Bank of America.

Jose Pena-Silva, 36 and Daniel Alejandro Campuzano-Moreno, 28, were arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Authorities discovered they are both illegally present in the U.S. and now they are also facing deportation, OSCO says.

Investigators believe the men were ‘bank jugging’ at the time of their arrest and had broken into the victim’s vehicle after observing him withdraw a large sum of cash at a bank ATM.

“First, criminals observe bank customers and try to identify targets who made a large withdrawal,” OSCO said in a statement explaining the growing threat of ‘bank jugging.’

“Next, the criminals follow the target to their next destination. Finally, the criminals wait for an opportunity, like when the target is distracted or leaves their vehicle unattended, to steal the cash.”

Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals in the U.S.
