Just after sunrise, two people in Piedras Negras, Mexico, used a small boat to avoid apprehension by Mexican National Guard.
One person retrieved a bag from the bushes before setting off into the Rio Grande.

The people in the boat made no effort to cross further into Eagle Pass, Texas, and just waited until the soldiers eventually moved on.
Human smuggling operations continue in this region north of the city as large numbers of special interest aliens and unaccompanied minors arrive daily.
