WATCH: Smuggler Dives Into Rio Grande to Escape Texas Police

SHARE:

A suspect was arrested days after he swam across the Rio Grande to Mexico to evade authorities during an illegal alien smuggling bust in South Texas.

On Apr. 12, Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) troopers and U.S. Border Patrol pursued a Lincoln sedan overloaded with illegal aliens in Laredo.

On Wednesday, TxDPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez posted footage from the chase along with information about the ensuing arrest.

The driver made a series of dangerous maneuvers while fleeing at high-speed, running red lights, swerving through traffic, and even ramming a vehicle while passing it and hopping a curb.

The suspect then drove to the border river, struck a parked vehicle, and bailed out.

The driver and at least two passengers can be seen piling out of the Lincoln and diving into the water, with the suspected smuggler escaping to the Mexican side.

“On 4/25/25, that smuggler was identified and arrested at the Laredo port of entry—now facing 6 counts of human smuggling, evading arrest & more,” Lt. Olivarez explained.

The suspect was identified as Jason Alejandro Espinoza, a resident of Laredo with four active warrants.

Dangerous smuggling pursuits unfold constantly along the U.S.-Mexico border, as InfoWars frequently reports.
