A male suspect has been arrested after he damaged vehicles driven by federal immigration officers in Illinois this week, authorities say.
The harrowing incident unfolded on Thursday in Aurora, a city roughly 35 miles outside Chicago.
Footage published by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shows the man using an object to shatter the rear window of a moving SUV surrounded by a mob apparently protesting immigration enforcement in the area.
The suspect can be seen fleeing as foot as officers pursue him through the crowd.
“A violent lunatic just ATTACKED members of our federal law enforcement—launching rocks at their vehicles. He has now been arrested,” DHS explained in a post on X.
“No one is above the law. Under [DHS Sec. Kristi Noem] if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will face consequences. We’re not playing.”

One woman who reportedly attempted to impede federal agents in Aurora was maced in the face and then arrested.

Assaults on ICE officers are up 1,000% this year as illegal aliens and radical leftists become increasingly brazen in their resistance to immigration law enforcement.
“The men and women of ICE and CBP are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer. Like everyone else, they just want to go home to their families at night. The violence and dehumanization of these men and women who are simply enforcing the law must stop,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
