A 20-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being run over multiple times by her own boyfriend during a ‘sideshow’ in California last weekend, according to reports.
The horrifying incident unfolded on July 4 in Vallejo, a city in the Bay Area.
Revelers had gathered to set off illegal fireworks when several drivers launched a ‘street takeover’ and began performing dangerous stunts with their vehicles, KTVU reports.
At one point, Alexis Hardhart was ejected from a car reportedly driven by her boyfriend, identified as Alejandro Rodriguez Zetina.
Zetina allegedly continued driving around, hitting Hardhart at least twice before fleeing the scene.
Witness footage shows Hardhart lying in the roadway moments before being struck, and then struck again.

Hardhart was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition where she remains in a coma, according to the latest available updates.
Zetina was later arrested and charged with hit-and-run, reckless driving, and illegal speed contests, but has reportedly been released on bail.
Hardhart has already undergone major surgery and suffered two broken legs, a broken pelvis, and myriad other injuries, according to a GoFundMe established for her medical bills.
