From September 2023 to June 2024, over 155,000 adults—predominantly men aged 18 to 35—illegally crossed the border and were dropped onto the streets of San Diego County. San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond reports:
Officials informed me that street releases were set to resume again last Friday in San Diego County. In a blatant attempt to protect their image before the election, the Federal Government has opted to quietly transfer migrants out of state instead of addressing the real issue.
Every day, numerous buses are now driving illegal immigrants from San Diego to Yuma, Arizona, where they are flown across the country. Additionally, 3 to 4 planes a week are flying illegal immigrants from San Diego to McAllen, Texas, where facilities are not full.
