An illegal border crosser lost their life in a remote West Texas county where such deaths skyrocketed under the Biden regime.
Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland revealed that a body was recovered in the desert last weekend in Terrell County, which sits on the frontier roughly halfway between Laredo and El Paso.
The Terrell County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) was notified about a possible deceased person in the region but a ground search did not yield positive results.
On Saturday, U.S. Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations assisted TCSO in locating and recovering the remains of a person who authorities believe crossed the border illegally.
The departed’s family was notified, along with the Mexican consulate.

“We are now in the hottest months of the summer, when crossing the border is especially dangerous. Yesterday’s recovery of a deceased Mexican National was the first fatality we have encountered this year. While we have responded to several 911 calls and rescue operations, none had resulted in a loss of life until now,” Sheriff Cleveland told Border Hawk.
“This marks the first border-related death in Terrell County during President Trump’s current term, a stark contrast to the 43 fatalities recorded in the county during the Biden administration.”
During Fiscal Year 2021, Terrell County saw a 300% explosion in illegal alien apprehensions and gotaways, and even steeper increases during subsequent years as the Biden invasion reached historic levels.

“We’ve gone from about one death per year to a total of 42 during this presidential administration,” Sheriff Cleveland told us during a ridealong in late 2024.
“That’s tremendous for our office and for our medical personnel that often respond if we get a 911 call, maybe just before someone passes away. It’s a lot on our resources, because a lot times we’re pulled away from doing our normal jobs in Terrell County, in the town of Sanderson, to come out and start recovering bodies.”
