A Mexican national who was deported after serving significant prison time for murder was caught entering Southern California by sea.
On Wednesday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the recent apprehension of multiple illegal aliens during a bust in the Pacific Ocean last weekend.
CBP Air and Marine Operations (AMO) intercepted a suspicious vessel in waters roughly six miles off Solana Beach in San Diego County.
Agents boarded the vessel and encountered six illegal aliens from Mexico.
“AMO seized the vessel, and the illegal aliens were taken into custody for processing at the Chula Vista Border Patrol Station,” CBP explained in a press release.
“During processing one of the individuals was identified as, Alejandro ARELLANO-Mejia, a previously deported felon who had served a 15-year sentence for murder.”
